Adventurous Works of Art in Valley

ART and new perspectives were the inspiration behind developer Meridien's new apartment project, The Miro in Fortitude Valley. Influenced by its namesake, Spanish surrealist artist, sculptor and ceramicist Joan Miro, this development has followed strict design briefs. Innovative finishes and the clever use of space will ensure that each apartment feels and functions like a larger dwelling. Meridien recognises the increasing demand for large, purpose-built balconies.

Miro's interiors are not just modern, they're works of art, managing-director Russell McCart declared. The one and two-bedroom apartments are clean and contemporary with a uniform black and white theme accented with splashes of colour. The use of rubber flooring in the kitchen and living areas and slimline finishes to doors and wardrobes is daring and adventurous while stainless steel appliances give the apartments a strong, grounded feel. The glassed-in bathrooms offer another daring style feature while achieving privacy at the same time.

The bedrooms can be walled or curtained off, or left open to give the apartment extra space, Mr McCart said. The minimalist kitchen consists of a backlit, resin island benchtop, which doubles as a storage cabinet, and dining table, which blends into the living area. The operable balcony screening that forms the artistic facade of the building can be closed to give a private and protected indoor/outdoor entertainment area. Each apartment also offers airconditioning, heating, built-in wardrobes, internal laundry and other modern conveniences such as security and parking in the complex.

Meridien has also sourced furnishing and audio packages to maximise living space and complement the contemporary design. As an additional extra, should buyers choose the audio visual package they will receive an ultra-think 42-inch Sony plasma television plus a 19-inch LG LCD flatscreen for the bedroom and a BOSE DVD theatre music system, which are all concealed in the kitchen to ensure spacesaving. There will be 60 units in the complex ranging from $335, 000 to $465, 000.Display apartments are open seven days from 10am to 4pm.
